Beauty in the Change

Nearby is an orchard. An urban orchard. It is many trees on what is left of a city block now surrounded by homes and businesses. I live where urban meets rural.

I was there recently at the orchard. The nearby fruit stand sells what remains of harvested apples, tomatoes, and a few vegetables. In two weeks they will close for the winter.

Autumn conjures images of transitions. The letting go that changes appearance, and that redirects energy to what will grow again another day.

And there is beauty in it. Perhaps because many of us know, at a soul’s layer, that transitions are natural, even if not easy.

I hope for the courage to meet my transitions, and to encourage others in theirs, and to notice that there is a certain beauty in the change and the paths made visible.
